Charity Doubles Tournament Serves Hope!

The third Annual Charity Doubles Tournament hosted by Buttonwood Tennis Club Nov. 4-6 was a huge success. All proceeds from the three day event benefited House of Hope, supporting the agency’s mission to empower Martin County residents to overcome hunger and hardship.

The tournament opened with the Serve Some Hope VIP Party and Pro-Am competition Friday, Nov. 4,. Over 100 party attendees enjoyed five tasting stations showcasing food from restaurants across the county including an Italian feast donated by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. Expertly paired craft beer and wine selections were provided by House of Brews of Jensen Beach. Other restaurants participating in the event included Tausha’s Seafood, New England Fish Market, SmallCakes Cupcakery and Creamery, Basil Garden of Palm City, Importico’s Bakery Cafe, La Forchetta and The Twisted Tuna.

Throughout the weekend an extensive silent auction kept participants checking in and hoping to win the wonderful baskets and art donated by dozens of local stores and clubs. Bake sale commenced throughout the event providing guests with a variety of homemade treats beautifully decorated by tireless volunteer bakers.

The doubles tournament attracted more than 100 players who competed in 9 divisions throughout the weekend. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Men’s, Ladies’ and Mixed doubles divisions. Buttonwood Tennis Club won the perpetual Hope Cup trophy for most registered players in the tournament.
