House of Hope is at the center of three major projects that will shape the future of thousands of Martin County residents.
House of Hope’s headquarters in Stuart is undergoing renovation to enhance services to Martin County residents in need.
When House of Hope moved is Stuart thrift store from its building on Dixie Highway to a storefront on U.S. 1, it created space for House of Hope to improve access to services and improve food distribution for all House of Hope branches.
The historic Golden Gate building is a treasured landmark that connects the neighborhood to its past. Soon, it will be a beacon of hope for the future as it becomes the Historic Golden Gate Center for Enrichment.
Once renovations are complete:
- The first floor of the building will house an Idea Lab, with technology and creative tools from the Martin County Library System.
- The second floor will have flexible instructional and meeting space dedicated to education and vocational training, health and nutrition, and arts and culture.

House of Hope plans to seed Martin County with Nutrition Gardens in three communities — the Golden Gate neighborhood in Stuart, Banner Lake in Hobe Sound, and the Port Salerno area.
Rather than “give a man a fish, feed him for a day,” this is a “teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime” approach to solving a community need.
