Update May 5, 2016

Thanks to generous and patient donors, House of Hope raised more than $7,000 — and counting — during the Great Give.

The Great Give is an annual 24-hour matching gift opportunity for donors to support a wide array of charities. Donors’ gifts are multiplied by a bonus pool of funds supplied by national and local donors.

The local Great Give was one of many such matching gift campaigns happening nationwide on May 3. About mid-day, the company responsible for handling donations, Kimbia, had a major technical failure that slowed or stopped the ability for donations to be accepted online.

The Great Give was extended until 2 p.m. on May 4, and many people turned to the call center to make their donations.

Because of the volume, call center donations are still being processed. As they are processed, donors will receive receipts and House of Hope will receive updated reports.

Information from May 3-4, 2016

Donors who like to multiply their money will want to take advantage of the Great Give, a 24-hour online giving event that takes place each May.

House of Hope is partgreat_give_may3icipating in the annual Great Give, which is designed to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits in a single day.

This matching gift event celebrates the spirit of giving and the collective effort it takes to strengthen our community.

Making the match

Locally, the Great Give is led by the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, United Way of Palm Beach County and United Way of Martin County. Major funders have created a bonus pool to match donors’ gifts.

You can give a donation of $20 or more and it will be multiplied using the bonus pool.

The more donations received by House of Hope, the greater the match will be!

Last year, House of Hope raised about $10,000 in donations on Giving Day and received nearly an additional $3,000 in matching funds for our food pantry program.

This year, you can be a part of vibrant advances in Project HOPE (Helping Others Progress through Empowerment). This umbrella of care ensures that struggling Martin County residents can get help with basic needs — food, clothing, furniture and financial assistance — as well as assistance to build life skills for a more self-sufficient future.

To give

All gifts must be made by credit or debit card via the Great Give website or 1-844-GIVE-DAY (1-844-448-3329).
