September is shaping up to be very interesting and busy for House of Hope. From food drives and lectures to 5K’s and an awards breakfast there are many ways to get involved this month. Here is September at a glance.
Sept 10: Meal Packing Event From 10am-12pm House of Hope is hosting a meal packing event in the newly renovated warehouse at the Bonita Street location. Teams of 10 will each run one of 6 assembly lines to measure, package, and heat seal 20,000+ meals for local households. There will be music and lots of smiles making this event one of the most fun ways to volunteer! Ages 6 and up welcome.
Sept. 10-11: St. Joseph Catholic Church food drive The House of Hope truck and volunteers will be on hand before each Mass to collect food from parishioners in one of the church’s many food drives throughout the year.
Sept. 13: Round table discussion, “Aging Without Dignity” Learn about senior poverty in Martin County and how it is being addressed. Complimentary breakfast & coffee. House of Hope CEO Rob Ranieri will be a speaker. 8am at the Kane Center 900 SE Salerno Rd Stuart, Florida 34997
Sept 14-15: Energy Fair House of Hope is participating in the annual ALPI Energy Fair at the Martin County Fairgrounds. Although the event is focused on assistance with light bills, many local agencies will have representatives at the fair to offer information and on-site services.
Sept 17: Aid in Recovery’s Race for Recovery 5K Run/Walk at Indian Riverside Park in Jensen Beach. Proceeds to benefit House of Hope and the NOPE Task Force. Event goes from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Sept 17: Live with Grace Memorial Food Drive and Beach Clean Up in honor of Grace Powell. 8am-11am at Jensen Beach (donation bins will also be placed at Stuart Beach). For more info email firstname.lastname@example.org
Sept 19: The Chicken Whisperer Tour Ranch Feed & Supply is hosting a food drive in conjuction with this FREE presentation by Andy Schneider- The Chicken Whisperer. if you have chickens or are thinking about getting chickens, this is an event you do not want to miss. RSVP is encouraged as they will provide FREE dinner. 6pm-8pm at the Martin County Fair Grounds 2616 SE Dixie Hwy, Stuart, Florida 34996
Sept 21: Holiday Store set up at Stuart Thrift. The transformation will begin! Staff and volunteers will rearrange the Stuart Thrift location to create the notorious Holiday Store which will run from September through January.
Sept. 23: The Hope Awards Breakfast Join us from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Mariner Sands Country Club for our annual celebration of community partners that have long-term, wide-ranging or otherwise unique relationships with House of Hope in the fight against hunger and hardship in Martin County.
